How to Play

Goal: Stack as many blocks as you can to build the tallest tower.

Controls: A block slides side to side at the top. Tap the board, click, or press Space to drop it onto the stack below.

Rules: Any part of a block hanging over the one below gets sliced off and falls away, so the tower narrows over time. Land a block dead center for a Perfect, which keeps your width and builds a combo. Miss the block below completely and the run ends. Blocks speed up as you climb, so time each drop.

About Stack Tower

Stack Tower is the digital heir of a timing genre that arcades and fairgrounds have run for decades, and that the mobile hit Stack distilled in 2016: a block slides back and forth, you drop it on the tower, and everything hanging over the edge is sliced away. Your tower gets narrower with every imperfect drop until there is nothing left to land on.

It is a game about compounding error. One sloppy drop does not kill you, it just shrinks every future target, and the pressure builds not from speed but from consequences. The flip side is the perfect drop: land exactly flush and you keep your full width, and chaining perfects is the difference between a tower and a skyscraper.

Stack Tower precision habits

  • Watch the leading edge of the moving block, not its center, edges are what alignment actually means.
  • Find the rhythm and drop on the beat; the slide is periodic, and timing the cycle beats reacting to position.
  • After a bad drop, prioritize re-centering over greed, two mediocre drops beat one desperate correction.
  • Keep your eyes on the tower's top surface, not the falling animation; the next alignment starts immediately.
  • Chase perfect streaks deliberately, flush drops preserve width and many versions reward streaks with regrowth.

FAQ

What counts as a perfect drop?

Releasing the block exactly aligned with the tower below, within a small tolerance, so nothing is sliced off. Perfects keep your platform at full width, and stringing them together is how top scores are built; the tolerance rewards rhythm more than reflexes.

Why does the game get harder even at the same speed?

Because your platform shrinks with every miss and never recovers on its own. The game's difficulty is your own error history made solid, a mid-run tower two-thirds width is effectively a harder game than a fresh one at full width.

Should I tap early or late?

Most players drop a hair late because they react to the block reaching alignment instead of anticipating it. Internalize the slide's period, count it like a metronome, and release just before your eyes say 'now'. The improvement is usually immediate.

Does Stack Tower save my best height?

Yes, your best score is stored locally in your browser on this device. It is the perfect 'one more run' benchmark, most personal bests fall within a few minutes of deciding to beat them.
